This page lists every cookie or browser-storage mechanism set when you visit quanttradingtools.com, what each is for, and how to disable it. We aim for short and complete.
Cookies we set directly
Quant Trading Tools does not set any first-party cookies of its own. The Site is a static publication; no login, no shopping cart, no personalisation requiring server-side state.
Cookies set by service providers
| Cookie | Set by | Purpose | Lifetime |
|---|---|---|---|
__cf_bm, cf_clearance |
Cloudflare | Bot detection and security challenge state. Strictly necessary for the Site to operate safely. | Session — 30 mins |
_ga, _ga_SXW6XYJME7 |
Google Analytics 4 | Distinguishes unique visitors and tracks aggregate sessions across the Site. Set only if you click Accept on the cookie banner. If you click Reject (or never interact), GA4 stays in cookieless mode and no analytics cookies are placed. | Up to 13 months |
Cloudflare's security cookies are strictly necessary — they protect the Site from automated abuse and are exempt from consent requirements under UK PECR and EU ePrivacy Directive.
Google Analytics is loaded with Consent Mode v2 defaulting to denied. On your first visit the cookie banner asks for your choice: Accept upgrades GA4 to full session tracking with the cookies above; Reject keeps GA4 in cookieless mode (aggregate, non-identifying pings only). Your choice is saved in localStorage on your device under the key qtt_consent_v1 and applies to subsequent visits without re-prompting. To change your mind: clear that key in your browser's site data, reload, and the banner returns.
What we don't use
- Advertising or behavioural-tracking cookies. We do not run third-party ads.
- Cross-site tracking pixels (Facebook Pixel, LinkedIn Insight Tag, etc.).
- Affiliate-tracking cookies set on our domain. The StrategyQuant attribution travels via the trial-form payload and the
?ref=njtURL parameter; no cookie is involved.
How to disable cookies
You can disable or delete cookies in any modern browser:
- Chrome: Settings → Privacy and security → Cookies and other site data
- Safari: Settings → Privacy → Manage Website Data
- Firefox: Settings → Privacy & Security → Cookies and Site Data
- Edge: Settings → Cookies and site permissions → Cookies and site data
To opt out of Google Analytics specifically, install the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on or use a privacy-focused browser like Brave or Firefox with Enhanced Tracking Protection.
Changes
If we add new cookies (for example, when GA4 is enabled), this page will be updated and the "Last updated" date revised.
